It is always a big deal in the throwing community when Caribou Lodge releases a brand new throw, and the CLYW Big Dipper is no exception. This new plastic throw is notable not only because it is the latest Zach Gormley signature (it sounds to be loosely based on the metal CLYW Borealis), but also because it will be available for a measly $35 USD. For that price I do believe I will finally break my CLYW abstinence. Oh, and just keep the excitement level high, Steve Brown announced today (via YoYoNews) that the CLYW Big Dipper will arrive next week on February 18!
Returning to the price for a moment, the main reason that the Big Dipper is going to sell for a relatively low price is that it is being manufactured in China. Don’t let that fool you, however, because the guys from CLYW put a lot of effort into making sure that the quality would be of CLYW calibre. From what I understand, CLYW tried to have the Big Dipper made in Canada but it ended up being more expensive and of lower quality.
As most of you you undoubtedly already know, the CLYW Big Dipper will be available in three colours as shown below. So get ready to snag one next week when they hit on February 18. It sounds like there will be a fair number of them available but you can expect them to snapped up quickly in any case.
