OK, boys and girls, time now for something completely different.
MonkeyfingeR Ray is clearly not satisfied with simply producing fun yo-yos. I say that because he has recently decided to branch out into into the realm of another skill toy. And so, ladies and gentlemen, I give to you the MonkeyfingeR x Aroundsquare Wukong begleri.
What is a begleri? Good question, I am glad you asked. A begleri comprises two small weights (about the size of a 5A counter weight but with more heft) connected by 4-6 inches of cord. One then proceeds, or attempts, to spin the weights around one’s hand while catching one and releasing the other in a series of grips. If you have ever done pen spinning you will have a general idea of how it works.
Probably the best way to explain it is to show you some videos. In fact, the videos shown below are from a series of videos published by MonkeyfingeR’s begleri partner, Aroundsquare (also known as AO2). I myself have received one of an early version of the Wukong begleri, as shown below (MonkeyfingeR Ray asked me to keep the picture grayscale for now until the final design is worked out). I can’t really do a proper review on it since this is my first begleri and I have no point of reference. What I can tell you with certainty is that it seems fun although my poor knuckles are bruised from trying to learn how to use it.
The MonkeyfingeR x Aroundsquare Wukong will be available in the near future in their store, so watch MonkeyfingeR Facebook page for more details.
