While my personal yo-yo collection is not yet huge, it is getting to the point where I am considering some form proper storage in order to keep them safe and display them in an attractive manner. As it happens, I met up with Jeremy “Mr. YoyoThrower” McKay last week and he showed me his method of yo-yo display storage. I liked it so much that I asked him if I could share it with everyone.
As I am sure most of you know, there are storage options out there that are specifically designed for yo-yos. The issue is that they can be somewhat expensive, especially if you have a large collection. Jeremy’s solution was to buy some tea bag chests and mount them on a wall. This works perfectly because the slots for the tea bags is the correct size for yo-yos, as you can see in the pictures below. This is brilliant method of yo-yo storage, both because it looks good and it is relatively inexpensive. Of course, you can purchase some really expensive tea bag chests that are stunning to behold, but many of them available online can hold 6-12 yo-yos and can be purchased for around $10 or even less. Plus, they still look great.
If you are looking for an great way to display yo-yos without breaking the bank, I recommend giving this method a look. You can find such tea chests at local department stores, or at online stores such as Amazon (search online for “tea chests” or “tea bag chests”).
